1200 blood glucose and no coma!

My little brother was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 15 last year; his glucose was 1200 upon arriving at the hospital. He lost 10 pounds in five days and the doctors were amazed he hadn't entered a coma. Furthermore, he had no measurable ketones in his urine, which is amazing. Luckily, his glucose was brought down over the next few days and his glucose is pretty well controlled now. If anyone has higher numbers without a coma I'd love to hear them!
