900 Plus! Blood Sugar Reading

My sister was just diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She was diagnosed with pancreatis,and after having her operation, she was sent home with a draining tube and was told she can eat what ever she wanted. Three days after her operation,she was back in the hospital. She complained of going to the bathroom frequently and said that for three days, her eyesight was getting blurry. She was drinking every and anything that was wet, and had no idea she had developed diabetes. The Dr's said her Glucose level was over 900,and couldn't believe that she was actually able to walk into the emergency room. My sister is 39 years old and having a really hard time accepting her condition, especially because diabetes doesn't run in our family.
