Diabetic Slow Cooker Recipes - Crock Pot Favorites!

diabetic slow cooker recipes

These Diabetic Slow Cooker Recipes offer you a fine array of healthier eating choices than your standard crock pot faire. We have the standard beef stew, chili and brisket. However, we also have collected some less obvious, but equally tasty recipes including shredded pork and bean soup, to name a few.

What makes a slower cooker recipe diabetic?

The key to making these recipes tasty and healthier than the originals is to use better cuts of meat, watch portion size and use versions of ingredients that are much lower in sodium and saturated fat.

Also, if certain high carbohydrate ingredients can be substituted for lower carb alternatives, then this should be done, as well.

If you like any of these recipes, let us know. If you have others you think are worthwhile let us know as well. We are always looking for new and delicious slow cooker recipes.

Beef Slow Cooker Recipes

Beef Stew Recipe: This stew uses rutabaga instead of potatoes. Trust me on this one, you won’t miss the potato and will wonder why you never used this wonder vegetable before.

Corned Beef and Cabbage: We have altered this traditional favorite to make it a healthier choice. It still is tasty, but watch out if you are trying to reduce your sodium intake.

Beef Brisket: My friend Dave makes the best brisket and he shared his wondrous recipe with us. You and your guests will love it.

Slow Cooker Chili Recipes

Beef Chili: We use sirloin to get the fact down and the flavor up. This chili recipe takes a new spin on an old favorite.

White Chicken Chili: Again, an easy but scrumptious meal that the whole family will love.

Meatless Slow Cooker Recipes

Black Bean Soup: Black beans are loaded with nutrition. This recipe takes full advantage of this wonder bean. If you have never tried a bean soup, I am sure you will like this one.

Pork Slow Cooker Recipes

Shredded Pork: No tailgate or football party would be complete with out pulled pork. This recipe lowers the sugar and salt content, but not the flavor.
