With regard to your post on the highest blood reading ever recorded...

Not sure what that may be but my mother is in ICU today with first
DKA. she was admitted to the hospital after recording a 1276 by the lab after the ER Accucheck could only register it as off the scale critical high. ER Doc was astounded she maintained consciousness (though she was in lethal bad shape).

Her physician said most recent A1C shows she'd been averaging 600-700
daily for the period tested, so yes, values can certainly run that high.
