Glucose Reading - 2164!!

I was out of state for my sister's Army Boot Camp Graduation Ceremony and I had lost my bag that held both my novolog and lantus. At age 15, I foolishly continued eating unhealthy food and drinking soda, but also lots of water for 3 days until my doctor got back to his office and sent a prescription to the local walmart. For those 3 days I felt miserable and was terrified to check my sugar. When I got in my parents' rental after getting my meds I checked it at 2164 (off AccuCheck) and I could not believe my eyes. I quickly decided to put 40 novolog and 30 lantus units in my gut, drank 3 dasanis waters. My doctor always said 1 for every 50 over 150. 2164-150=2014. 2014/50=40.28 I sat there catatonic for the next two hours except to pee my pants ever so often (Polyuria), until it came down to 200s. I then ate a meal with high protein electrolytes and potassium - a steak, Gatorade and bananas with peanut butter and a lot of water.
2hrs later my sugar was in the low 300s so I took 3 to correct down to 100s. After that I was fine again. How did I make it? The same way I got into the mess: having Aspergers Syndrome. I didn't even tell my parents, brothers or sister until the 3rd day when my doctor answered his phone that I had a problem. I was just as scared to tell others that I had made a mistake as I was of not having meds, and I tried to ignore it and just be a normal person. For a time it was "my topic" so I knew what to do. I also was in great shape. My 1mile time was 5:10 just a weak earlier and I was still in my honeymoon period. Most imporantly I stubbornly stayed awake and calm those hours after checking. I want to know why some people stay conscious in these extreme diabetic situations and why others pass out!
Editor's Note: This is an amazing story, but I would ask your doctor his thoughts. I checked the Accu-Chek glucose meters and they do not read above 600mg/l so I am not sure how you got this reading. Are you sure it was this high?
