High Blood Sugar Reading
by George Evans
(Murfreesboro TN)
My primary care doc got some lab results back from the Hematologist and I was advised that the blood sugar reading at the Hematologist was only 438.
Primary care to me to check my BG's for about a week.
Highest reading that I have recevied so far was a reading of 517 on August @ 2:39 AM, this is the second 500 reading that I have ever had....the first was the day I was diagnosed and the physician asked me why I wasn't dead.
My sugars have been in the 300's into the 400's and sometimes hit the 500 mark.
Primary care physician told me that I have to go on insulin, I have refused. I told the doc's office that I can not afford to pay 50-60 dollars a month just for the medicine/syringe/needles.
Yes I do call an insulin pen what it really is, and that is a syringe.
I did tell my endo, whom I think is now my former endo. Long story but it basically boils down to his office not liking my attitude.
Well I told the endo that both of my Maternal Uncles had gone on the needle and within 1 year or so they were both dead and buried.
The endo did not like what I said, but he was told that I will never us the needle again. Used it once and I felt like the scum of the earth.
To paraphrase Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" Never more.
I will never more feel like the scum of the earth by "shooting up"
Insulin or what ever garbage the Doc's prescribe.
Best thing of the day is occaisonally taking oral medications, my worst time is when I have to be a Junkie and shoot up insulin.
Well the insulin companies can go and take there injectables because I am never going to use there "legal" "Junk"
He who refuses insulin
