I am 25 diagnosed diabetes with reading 505

I went to doctor as i had acute acidity but unfortunately diagnosed on diabetes with 505 reading yesterday.Doctor is surprised that i didn't go to diabetic coma..MY age is 25 and completely depressed now. One suggestion..does it means that i have diabetes just because my reading is high once? I am put on medication and also given insulin..i don't know what is happening with me..suggestions are appreciated
