I am missing my Cozmore.

I have recently switched over to the Animas Ping from the Deltec Cozmore. I chose the Ping because of its remote capabilities with the blood reader. It looked good, the user videos seemed valid, and the comparison checklist matched the Cozmore. HOWEVER, I find myself frustrated with this pump for simple user features that it is lacking.

The first would be a home screen button, a back button, or even being able to continuously scroll thru the menus.

Second, the pump is too easy to suspend. If you hit suspend on the Cozmore, you had to hit a confirm button, that was a different button. So safety was built into button order. That also applies to when the PING is delivering bolus - if you hit a button during the delivery it automatically CANCELS the dose - NO WARNING. A Confirm option would be so much more secure.

Thirdly, for a pump that touts such small dosages, why would the user have to calculate in your head the carbs for an extended boluses? There are 2 reasons to give a bolus - carb consumption and correction factor. Delivering a self-determined bolus for no determined/recorded reason reduces the accountability of the user.

There are other issues/differences that just make me scratch my head. I know that I have to accept that this is a different pump, different developers, etc, but the Cozmore seemed to have been actually used and compared and improved in house. Also, customer service was outstanding. So far there is NOTHING I have found that the PING does that the Cozmore did not do and in most instances, do it better and with more security.

I miss my COZMORE.

One more thing - who was the sadistic being that developed the Inset Infusion set (Unomedical). The only comparison that comes to mind is harpooning a whale. I can not believe that such a "violent" device is marketed to people, let alone children.......Thankfully I can still use my Cleo from Deltec.
