Lenny - Overall satisfied (since Aug 31, 2010) Omnipod

A1c dropped from 6.8 to 5.9. I resisted going to a pump for years. Glad I finally got wise after speaking with fellow diabetics on the pump. Speaking about it with real users gave me confidence. I've read about some issues that other folks have had. However, I can say that things have been very good overall.
-Yes, a few of omnipods failed in my first 3 months of usage. Annoying but I called cust srvc (at any hour) and most were replaced on time. The srvc rep does say 'when' they will be shipped.
-Yes, One got knocked off; my fault for bumping into a cubical wall because I rushed to get up.
-Yes, I wear an cut ace bandage around the pod (on my arm) but only when I exercise (hot yoga, biking 40-100+miles, running) because I sweat. Cust Srvc will share a list of supplemental adhesives suggested by customers (they cannot endorse a product as a vendor).
Yes, I use the Co-pilot free software. It shows trends, history and helped my doctor and me change basel rates to 'dial' them in for much better control. I understand them and have setup my own basel programs for exercise (light to extreme).
-Yes, I pre-program meal/carb settings.
-Yes, I use the freestyle bg meter rather than the pdm for bg testing (saves battery life somewhat of the pdm).
-Yes, I wish it lasted longer than 3 days, was completely waterproof for 24 hrs, was a lower profile, could bolus without the pdm, had a smaller pdm, batteries lasted longer then 4-6 weeks, could have a different beep tone, could be programmed from the Co-pilot software with a keyboard. Would like the freestyle meter to be able to send results to pdm to save a step of entering it.
Looking forward to new product versions and enhancements hopefully sooner than later.
