Looking to Make OmniPod Change
by Lessie

I have been using the OmniPod for about 8 months. It is my first pump.Initially I loved it. No tubing connection was my biggest appeal. But now, I am having an increasingly bad reaction to the adhesive. Not the white cloth band aid part so much as the "anchor glue" around the cannula and the back end. Now when I remove it there are blisters, skin breaks and I'm left with 2 oozing, weeping sores. I have called customer service, and have been using a ski prep barrier for over a month with no relief. My dermatologist has given me a high dose steroid ointment to speed the healing, but after 15 days, I don't really have a healed site to reuse. Plus the itching is driving me crazy. I haven't even mentioned my pod failures..... Just ditto the reviews I have read. I'm usually AMAZED if I get 3 days out of a pod. Now customer service says they won't replace it if I've had it on longer than 36 hours. That's only half of it's expected life. Like I said, love the idea of no tubing, but the allergic reaction and failed pods is making me very UNHAPPY!
