by Missing the Cozmo Insulin Pump
(kingston ontario canada)
My first pump was the Cozmo, which I got in July 2005. I loved it. The only issue was the cap that held the cartridge in the pump was plastic, and it cracked three times during the 5 years I had the pump. The company was very good, sending a replacement by courier each time, free of charge.
Sadly, cozmo is now out of the pump business and I can no longer get supplies locally. I switched to the Paradigm, and find it feels like an early beta version of the Cozmo. I have had it six months and still haven't figured out the dual bolus (it needs to be reset, or else it keeps your bolus as dual thereafter; you can't be sure it received the command and is supplying your insulin in that mode).
I known of no way to know just how much insulin in left in the cartridge.
I would give it a C-, and the no-longer-produced Cozmo would get an A-; had cozmo fixed the cartridge cap and remained in the pump business, this paradigm would have never been purchased.
