Hi,
My story is that I am a 53 year old african american female. When I first discovered that I had diabeties was when I turned 50 years old I am also in my menoposeal stage. My weight used to be 135 to 150 when I was in my 40's, as I approached my 50's I top the scales at a wopping 240 lbs.My first doctor that gave me the news that I was a diabetic he only gave me metorformin. After being treated by him for 1 year, this doctor left the profession and retired for the same reason.I found a female doctor whom reminded me of doctor ruth a well known tv personality back in the 1980's.My new doctor did a lot of testing on me before she started to prescrib other medication to help me with my diabeties and other medical problems that I had. After being with her for over a year, she we decieded to try to work with diet and exercise approach,so she placed me on a 1600 calorie diet I followed it for about six months and the results were very pleasing and good.I now lost 40 pounds and felt so much better.Oh , did I tell you that I had osto arthis in both knees. Well this was the best thing that I could have done for my self was this diet. After a year later i fell off, and started gaining my weight back.Well now I know my wrong doings and I plan to start my diet again and I hope I am able to stick to it this time.
