My Highest Blood Sugar Ever

My story begins when I was diagnosed at the age of 8 years old with a blood sugar of 1600. I was at my dad's house and a virus attacked my system.

My dad took me to an emericare clinics since it was on a Saturday. They stated that I had the virus that was going around and that it had to run it's course. I wasn't getting any better so my family ended up taking me to the emergency room.

My eyes were sunk in and had dark circles under them, my fingers and body was so skinny due to dehydration, my lips had a blue tint to them and I didn't know where I was or who any one was around me. I thought people were playing tricks on me. I was so bad that the hospital took me straight back to the back.

When I was back there the doctor asked me if I knew where I was at. I stated for him to quit playing. The doctor looked at my mother & step mother and stated "she's diabetic". The meter at the hospital maxed out and stated that I was in critical condition, they then shipped me over to another hospital since my condition was so bad. Once I was at the other hospital, the meter was still reading critical condition. They finally determined that my bllod sugar was at 1600. I was in the ICU for several days and was still out of it. Finally they got my blood sugar to a good number. I was in there for about a week.

It's been a 1 1/2years since I was diagnosed and I got my pump last December. And the pump has been controlling my blood sugar better than what it was.
