My Highest Blood Sugar

The reason is quite simple. These numbers are from lab tests when I was in ICU, DKA (Diabetic ketoacidosis)at age 52 and diagnosed type 1. You are right most meters max out at about 500-600 and that's what got me in ICU. I had all the classic signs of diabetes and when I borrowed a meter it read "HI 600+", kid you not!!! At that time my blood sugar was 672 and a1c of 13.8. My last a1c after less than 2 years was 5.7.
