"My very first insulin pump"

I started out using a medtronic minimed insulin pump back in 2002. I have loved this pump for so many years and it did a GREAT job in helping me keep my Type 1 diabetes under good control.

In 2006 I was upgraded to the Paradigm model. Another great pump! As of today I am still wearing this pump(2011). My warranty has run out on this pump in Oct.2010. After wearing this pump for so many years I have found that it is a wonderful pump. The only problem I have had in using this is after so many months or so, the pump will develop small cracks on it's body. I have had to send my pump back to the company many times over the years for an exchange(while my warranty was good)with no problems. Now, today I am only considering switching to a new company with a new pump for this reason only. I am not hard on anything that I use so I believe the problem comes from the material that this pump is made from. I have now found a better made pump that I am in the process of switching to and hoping that this pump will and can live up to my many years of use.
