Natural Human Diet
The Natural Human Diet is a special diet plan designed to improve your health relatively fast and painlessly. It is based on both the Intermittent Fasting and Calorie Restriction theories of eating.
It is well established that Intermittent Fasting or/and Calorie Restriction (CR/IF) improves a person’s health and mood. However, what actually is Intermittent Fasting and Calorie Restriction?
These two concepts are very similar and in general there are only a few small differences between them. Both diet systems are based on one very important law which states:
The fewer calories you eat, the less time it spends digesting food. Less time spent on digesting means the body can devote more time for healing and recovery processes.
Both Intermittent fasting and Calorie Restriction will force you to eat fewer calories than usual. It is scientifically proved that 30% calories less in your diet may effectively extend your life up to 30 years! This is amazing news.
Both diets are low in calories but very rich in vitamins, minerals and healthy vegetable fats. The diet also minimizes carbohydrate consumption, so it is in the genre of "low-carb" diets.
Key NHD Differences
The key distinction between the Natural Human Diet plan and CR/IF plans is the amount of animal fat content consumed.
The CR diet, and few types of IF diets (there are many different variations of IF), are generally rich only in vegetable fats, but ignore most animal fats.
However, animal fat is very important in healthy nutrition, so the Natural Human Diet adds this type of nutrition. For example, beef suet (specific type of fat), lard, fish oil, cream and real butter are key foods of the diet plan. They provide essential fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E and K.
NHD proponents believe these vitamins are underestimated in modern nutrition. Further they assert that a healthy diet must include these essential foods.
How Does the Diet Work?
The Natural Human Diet starts with an initial 3 month phase. During this phase, the diet can allow the follower to lose between 5-8 kilograms of weight (approximately 11-17 pounds) in an easy, safe and healthy way.
The first three months of the Natural Human Diet plan are very strict. This is not the type of diet that allows some flexibility in eating during the initial stages.
After the initial three months, participants are given more freedom to eat when and how much they want. This is similar to the Adkins Diet and the South Beach Diet that allow for some flexibility once the initial phase is complete. Importantly, the NHD plan burns excess fat but not valuable muscle tissue. Bone demineralization is also not a problem with this diet plan. Because of the high content of healthy fats and minerals, the hormonal system will return to its normal healthy state.
How is it Right for Diabetes and Pre-Diabetes?
Many diabetics and pre-diabetics need to lose excess weight. This diet is good for this goal. Additionally, proponents believe that eating less overall, plus eating less carbohydrates, is naturally good for ones overall health.
Key Components for the Natural Human Diet include:
- Low Carbohydrate Content. No need for high amounts of insulin because the body will effectively use ketones. Ketones are derived from fats, so the diet should allow for significant weight loss.
- Higher Fat Content. The healthy fats including animal fats are incredibly important for proper hormones production.
- Low Calorie Content. Lower calorie content allows your body to be more responsive to glucose and will improve whole metabolism.
