OmniPod Cost Me $40,000 - And Didn't Work!
The Omnipod is flawed. It is not a reliable system. it will work on and off. 30-50% of the pods fail out of box- before they are even on the body. Count on another 20-30% failing while you are wearing them. They have serious quality control issues and extremely poor customer service. Extra tape adhesives is absolutely necessary and the pods fall off or get knocked off easily without it. I was on the system for just shy of 4 years and it cost over $40,000 during that time. There are way too many things that have to fall into place to get it to work - temperature, filling technique, body fat, shipping damage to pods, static electricity, humidity, type of battery, insulin type and temperature, can't use it near a computer or other electronic device while filling it.
While the idea of a tubeless pump is wonderful this one is not there yet technologically and after struggling for years on it I have finally quit. Also they have employees who post about the wonders of the system on websites so if you read anyone who says it's a miracle, be warned.
