The Animas Ping is Not For Me.

I previously owned a Medtronic Paradigm for about 5 years. I worked fine for me and was very easy to use. When I saw all the bells and whistles that came with the Animas Ping, I wanted to try it and I was due for a new pump, since my insurance will cover a new one every 4-5 years. I've had the Animas for almost 2 years now and I hate it. The rubber on the keypad keeps coming off, making it difficult to push the buttons. I don't like the fact that every time I change the battery I have to reprogram, date, time and battery as well as rewind and prime my pump. Also, according to the guide on the screen that indicates battery life, there is still some left, but the alarm keeps going off periodically until you change it. This means I'm not getting my the full use of the batteries. With my Paradigm, when I changed batteries, it would remember all my settings. I could replace the battery and be on my way. It also could stand up to wear and tear. I keep my Animas in a case and the rubber still comes off exposing the sticky lining underneath. I miss my Paradigm, but for now I will have to see if I can get a replacement Animas so that I am able to accurately push the buttons.
