The Good and Bad Insulin Pumps
by Jeff

Anyone who has used an insulin pump knows it beats the alternative. What they don't tell you when you get a pump is that the supplies you are forced to buy through them is way over priced. Because of the way Medtronic Minimed words their info to insurance, the insurance company considers the pump to be a temporary solution so they can choose to cover supplies or not to (I'm not saying they all do it but most are in the business to MAKE MONEY). A couple months worth of supplies costs about $500. Shame on Medtronic Minimed for the monopoly they have created. For making way too much profit off of people with a genetic disease that they have to pay way too much for supplies JUST TO STAY ALIVE. Remember there is no money in the cure.
