Type 1 Diabetes News - Build-A-Bear Promotion

Hello All! Here is some type 1 diabetes news. As you know, November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. Those with kids, grandkids, etc., will be happy to note that Build-a-Bear has partnered with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to raise funds for local JDRF chapters.

Essentially, each customer who comes into the store will be given the option of adding a $1 to their purchase. Each dollar collected during November will be passed on to the local JDRF chapter where the store is located. There are over 250 Build-A-Bear stores, so no excuses for not getting a new teddy bear this month!

The Build-a-Bear website states that it has donated over $230,000 to JDRF over the last six years it has been running the program. Hopefully, this will inspire some folks to support a great cause.

Editor Response: Wow! Great post. I have several kids who are big fans of Build-A-Bear. I wasn’t aware of this fundraising drive. It looks like I will be heading there this weekend for some fun (and fundraising). Thanks for the heads up!
