Type 1 Medtronic Pump User

I've been using the Paradigm 722 for about 7 years now. I love having an insulin pump, but not sure I love the Paradigm. One problem I have is finding a place to carry the pump on my body. I usually carry it in my bra, which causes stares when I pull it out to check it or bolus. The tubing is a pain as it sometimes gets caught on something. Although, it has saved the pump from falling on the floor when it falls out of my bra ;-).

Another problem I have is wearing the pump while I play sports or exercise. I usually wear it in my sports bra, but I've had several instances where condensation gets under the buttons and they stop working. When this happens the pump is no longer usable and I have to go back to shots while I wait for Medtronic to send me a replacement. So although it says it's "water resistant," it's not sweat resistant. This has been a major issue for me. Over the 7 years, I've had to return my pump about 4 times. Each time transitioning between shots (using Lantus) then going back to the pump has made my blood sugar go crazy. Also, after the 4 year warranty expires, you have to purchase a new pump. That was about $1000 out of pocket WITH INSURANCE. I'm switching to the Omni-Pod next week. I wore a demo for a couple of days and it seems to be a fit. I'll update after I've had a chance to wear it for a while.
