Sterling Cleveland is not like most people. The 32 year old just finished a trek across the United States to help raise awareness of diabetes. The journey took him from his home in New York City to Los Angeles.
Covering nearly 30 miles a day, Sterling was able to complete his walk in eight months. The inspiration for his travels was his grandmother who died of type 2 diabetes when he was only 21 years old. He wanted to honor her struggle with the disease by helping others become more aware of the condition.
Sterling raised over $25,000 on his journey and chronicled his journey on his personal website. For some great pictures, check out the New York Daily News.
