Diabetic Brisket Recipe

This Diabetic Brisket Recipe was not altered at all from the original non-diabetic beef brisket recipe. I cannot emphasize how easy AND good this recipe is to make.

I (and soon to be you!) have Dave Baker to thank for sharing this creation. No, Dave is not a celebrity chef, but a long time friend of mine, who happens to be a great cook.

Dave made this at a recent party of his and it was a feeding frenzy. All the attendees loved it. Let’s get to the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2lb Beef Brisket
  • 2 Medium Onion
  • 12oz Chili Sauce, low sodium
  • 1 teaspoon Celery Seed
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard Seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper

Directions

Step 1. Dice the onions and place in the bottom of the crockpot.
Step 2. Trim any excess fat from the brisket. Place brisket in the slow cooker on top of the onions.
Step 3. In a mixing bowl, combine all of the remaining ingredients. Stir until mixed thoroughly. Pour over brisket.
Step 4. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for approximately 8 hours, or until tender. I usually have to change the setting of the cooker to high for the last 1-2 hours.
Step 5. Enjoy
